What is a masticating juicer?

Also known as a cold press juicer, it’s a type of juicer that slowly breaks down fruit and vegetables, gently pressing all the juice out of the broken down pieces. It results in a dry pulp which is then thrown away.

Which is better: masticating juicer or centrifugal?

In general, a masticating juicer is better than a centrifugal juicer because it gets more juice out of fruit or vegetables. This is because they are much slower, taking more time to squeeze every last drop of juice out of your fruit and vegetables.

How does a masticating juicer work?

Juicers of this type work by slowly grinding down fruit or vegetables with a single sharp blade. Once an ingredient has been broken down, it gets crushed, and the juice gets squeezed out through a fine mesh filter. This leaves a dry pulp that contains little to no nutritional value.

How to use a masticating juicer?

They work the same as any other juicer. You do not need to chop up fruit or vegetables beforehand, although it will speed up the process slightly.
